- This is an in-person & online hackathon. Teams will be formed on Devpost.com at the DeveloperWeek New York 2026. From Devpost, participants can message each other to form teams, participate in chat boards, and communicate with sponsors.
- Teams can build apps from scratch (Mobile App / Web App).
- Teams can solve no challenges (build whatever you want) or can submit to as many challenges as they want.
- There will be two rounds of judging. During Round 1, judges will review all team projects and fill out a scoring sheet on each to determine the Overall Hackathon Winner. Round 2 is the Sponsor Round of judging. Each sponsor will judge the teams working on their Challenge(s) and determine a winner(s). The sponsors choose their own prize winners.
- Round 1 judging will be based on: 1) PROGRESS: How much progress you make on your submission; 2) CONCEPT: Does your submission solve a real problem?; and 3) FEASIBILITY: Could your submission grow/evolve to become a startup or be a profitable business.

Tower Pipeline Challenge: Data-to-AI
The Challenge:
Leverage Tower to construct a functional application that integrates with external datasets to execute practical workflows. Potential project ideas include:
Executing dbt models for data transformation
Launching AI agents for advanced data interpretation
Developing interactive dashboards using Hex or Marimo
And much more...
Use cases:
Tower provides Pythonic serverless compute, orchestration and lakehouse data storage for your AI project:
Collaborate on Python apps with your team (with local development, application sharing, production deployments, orchestration and scheduling)
Provide your AI Agents with fresh and reliable data (acquire data from databases and web APIs and store them in a lakehouse on S3)
Use it for Feature Engineering (transform raw data to produce features for inference)
Each Hackathon Team gets:
2 months of free Tower usage to build your data infrastructure for AI: Team Plan with 5 users and 10,000 free compute minutes every month (a $300 value). Use it after the hackathon too!
Challenge Winners
6 months of free Tower usage: Team Plan with 5 users and 10,000 free compute minutes per month (a $900 value)
Each team member from the winning team receives a Brick for Builders - focus on building and temporarily block distracting notifications from your phone (up to $350 value)
What are Bricks for Builders?
Bricks (getbrick.app, not affiliated with Tower, although we are big fans) are palm-size physical devices that temporarily block distracting phone notifications with a simple tap by your phone. Use them without any subscriptions or complex setups and focus on building the winning AI project.

name.com — Domain Roulette
Most projects start with an idea and end with a frantic search for an available domain. We're running it backwards.
How it works:
We will share a list of real, randomly selected domains. Your job is to pick the one that sparks the best idea. Then, build around it using any stack, framework, or AI tools you want.
Some domains will be obvious creative fits for a product. Some will make you laugh. Some will require very loose interpretation. That’s the point.
Select your domain here -- https://domainroulette.dev/
What we're judging:
Creative interpretation of the domain
Technical execution
Product polish and experience
Strength of concept and originality
How deeply the final project connects back to the domain itself
We are looking to reward teams that take an unexpected domain and turn it into something surprisingly thoughtful, useful, or entertaining.
Prizes
1st place: $2,500 cash
2nd place: $1,000 cash
